Charitable Organizations

The following organizations made presentations at the June meeting of the Macomb County Republican Party Executive Committee.

  • Big Family of Michigan serves the needs of Michigan’s foster children, teens and young adults through various outreach programs and initiatives. There are over 14,000 foster children in Michigan. In addition to participating this event, the Victory Center will also be a drop off location for new toys, school supplies, winter hats, scarfs, mittens and jackets.

  • Wigs4Kids is a non-profit organization providing kids 3-18 new hair, new hope, and a chance to be themselves. At Wigs 4 Kids, no child is turned away and no family ever pays. Since 2003, thanks to the kindness & generosity of the community, Wigs 4 Kids has changed the lives of over 3,000 children in need.

  • The Desert Angel, Inc. sends Miracle boxes (care packages) to our service members in the Middle East. They are called "Miracle Boxes" in honor of PFC Joseph A. Miracle, a Michigan solider, who gave his life defending his unit. The boxes contain a variety of items including hydration mixes, pocket foods, high protein foods, socks, cards, etc. The Victory Center will also host a donation box for anyone who wants to drop off any items for our troops.   • Wreaths Across America (Resurrection Cemetery) organization’s mission, Remember, Honor, Teach, is carried out in part each year by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies in December at Arlington, as well as hundreds of veterans’ cemeteries and other locations in all 50 states and beyond. Locally, there is an event at Resurrection Cemetery where there are over 8,000 veterans buried.

  • Stiggy’s Dogs, is a Michigan based 501(c)(3) non-profit that pairs service dogs with Michigan veterans. The dogs come from rescue organizations, shelters, animal control agencies and humane societies. The dogs can do such things as turning on lights, providing a safe space in public, waking their handler from a night terror, reminding their handler to take medication and so much more.
